Forbes: The Fattest City in the Nation
Among the 50 cities Forbes Magazine looked at for the study, Music City had the biggest waist line in the country, according to the magazine.
Nashville was the heaviest city in the nation with 68 percent of the population overweight or obese. The survey also said that Nashvillians watch 32 hours of television every week and more than 22 percent of the people don't exercise.
Among three different areas for this survey: residents' Body Mass Index; physical inactivity and television watching habits, Nashville did rank No. 1 for Body Mass Index, but came in ninth altogether.
The No. 1 spot, when considering all three areas, went to our good neighbor in Tennessee, Memphis. Thirty percent of the people don't exercise and they watch 41 hours of TV a week.
